She holds a degree in English and mathematics for being a teacher in intermediate schools (Realschule). Besides teaching she was keen on enlargening her violin playing and her music knowledge. She played in semi-professional orchestras (e.g. Junge Süddeutsche Philharmonie Esslingen 1983 -2001) and visited several master classes (e.g. masterclasses with Prof. Erika and Dr. Helmut Zehetmair, Salzburg).

Since 1995 she has been working part-time for the school music section at the Ministerium für Kultus, Jugend und Sport Baden-Württemberg besides teaching. Her main tasks have been pedagogical concepts between the cultural institutions (orchestras and operas) and the schools in Baden-Württemberg, organisation of teachers’ further training in music, organisation of events like “Klingende Mainau” or advent concerts of schools in Stuttgart etc.

Since 2003 she has had a full-time job at the LIS as music consultant when enlargening her tasks with early language teaching and music. Publication in “Lehren und Lernen” September 2002 on “Musikalische Wege zur Fremdsprache in der Grundschule”.

Since 1988 she has been organizing and leading international masterclasses „Altensteiger Sommermusik“ for violin, viola, violoncello, doublebass, piano, chamber music and composition for students and gifted children on a high professional level as a hobby (www.altensteiger-sommermusik.de)

He is headmaster of the Grundschule Schnait, Weinstadt which is pilot school for language and music integrated learning since 2006. Since 1999 he is a teacher educator teaching and counselling generalist and music teachers in the Rems-Murr-County.

He is member of a comedy-vocal group and conducts a concertband.

He is deputy headmaster  at the Deutschorden-Schule Lauchheim. He is responsible for parts of the school development in the primary and secondary school. He is a lecturer at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart for social competences and moderation. Since 1987 he has been member of the “International Association for Integrative Music Pedagogy and Polyästhetic Education” at the University Mozarteum Salzburg. He is also composing and arranging musicals, children songs, movie soundtracks, video installations and live performance for literature with music.
